WELCOME!
The International
Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), in conjunction
with the Institute
for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) and the Advanced
Computational Modelling Centre (ACMC) at the University
of Queensland, is pleased to present the 11th
International Conference on Intelligent Systems for
Molecular Biology (ISMB 2003), to be held from 29
June - 3 July 2003 in Brisbane, Australia.
ISMB is the premier international conference in bioinformatics,
bringing together leading computer scientists, molecular
and genomic biologists, mathematicians, statisticians,
information technologists and software developers.
Its scope covers the development and application of
advanced computational and informatic methods to address
leading-edge problems in modern biological sciences
and biotechnology. ISMB 2003 will be the first conference
in this series to be held outside North America and
Europe.
An exciting program of keynote and plenary speakers,
scientific posters, commercial displays, tutorials
and satellite meetings will be offered. A session
will be dedicated to short papers in applied bioinformatics.
The four-day conference and associated tutorials will
be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition
Centre (www.bcec.com.au).
Unique in its capacity and versatility, the Brisbane
Convention & Exhibition Centre is considered one
of the leading purpose built convention centres in
the world today; with advanced technological capabilities
and functional flexibility it provides the ideal venue
for ISMB 2003.
We extend an invitation to all individuals with an
interest in bioinformatics, mathematical biology,
or computational biology to come to Brisbane to enjoy
the Sunshine State's warm hospitality.
